So last spring when I bought this G2160 (with 60" deck) the blades on it had really been through the wringer. So I started looking into "gator style" blades. After a lot of research I settled on XHT Predator blades. A video (I cannot find a link to now) showed how well they're made and can withstand tremendous abuse. He took an Oregon Gator Blade and smacked it's cutting edge square against the cutting edge of the XHT Predator. Result? Gator deep gouge Predator not a nick.
Well since my wife works at a place that makes hammers and cutting tools ( Estwing - Manufacturer of the finest American made hand tools. ) and she can take the blades into the shop to be sharpened and balanced I decided to buy a second set of the Predator, take the set off I used last year, install the new and have her shop sharpen them up. So I got under the machine yesterday and removed the blades only to find they look like they're brand new yet. Not the least bit of wear to the cutting edges. Count me totally amazed. I slapped the old ones right back on. No need to even touch up the edges. Pretty amazing blades IMO
