B1750HSTD No Serial Number

I am in Canada and have had my B1750 for quite a while but have never had to buy any parts for it other than oil and filters. I am now looking for an alternator belt and have needed the serial number from the tractor. However, there is no serial number where the manual says there should be beside the engine information label. There are two small holes where i would expect the serial number plate to be but it does not look like there was ever anything there.
Any other place i should look?

I take it those "holes" are on the side where the clutch is located?

Correct. The holes are on the clutch side.

Look on the side opposite the clutch to see if it was stamped into the casting metal.

On mine there is a raised section that was machined and then seria number is stamped into the machined surface and are about 3/8 inch tall

In the event a serial # can't be located,how many options are there? Looking at length of options then comparing to yours might allow getting it right first time.

Sorry I mis spoke

I meant “ on my tractor” not “on my B1750HST”.

Mine is a L185, sorry for the confusion.

There are probably two or three belts to choose from and the dealer can probably the number of variations. Perhaps you could take the belt to an automotive parts store and they can find a match.

I will probably take the belts off and source similar ones. Strange that the serial number is not there though.

A little more of the confusing information on the belts. Kubota Canada parts does not show the two belts and I did find a different parts drawing online but am not sure that they are the correct part numbers.

curious, so went to website
Kubota only shows ONE alternator for the B1750hst-d, a $500 item.
there is no choice based on serial number.
there is a 'dynamo' for the ozzie version of the tractor listed too !!

I found the two belt setup on the Kubota Canada parts as part of T01800 Tension Pulley but there is a note about the serial number greater than 723498 or less than 723497 with two alternatives. So without the serial number I am back to removing the belts and shopping for similar ones.

try this. I just googled your model, and found the owners manual. Check the left side of the trans housing.

Yes, the left side was the first place that I checked. There are two small holes there that look like ones that would have a rivetted serial number plate but have never been used. No number at all. The identification plate is there with the engine type and description.

I assume that you purchased this tractor used? As disgusting as this thought might be, could the seller of the tractor have stolen it and then sold it to you? That could be the reason that the serial number is missing. How long have you owned the tractor and do you know where the seller lives? I would not want to be in possession of a stolen piece of property. Check to see if the engine serial number has been obliterated, and if it has, then there is an even better chance that it is stolen. Crooks try to make it difficult to find serial numbers.

I bought it used on consignment from a Kubota dealer in 1992 so I doubt if it was stolen. But cannot be totally sure. I will look for the engine number when i get some of the crud off it.

Did you not get a Bill of Sale from the Dealer? Do you no thave that info? Perhaps you can contact that Dealer and Their records can reveal the SN?
Kubota might also be able to correspond te engine SN (stamped beside the fuel pump probablyh) with the SN of the tractor upon which it was installed.
I would not be happy to own a tractor, gun, vehicle, etc which had no identifying serial number/VIN/etc.

Example: I inherited a rifle from my Father…who purchased it “new” in 1930…before serial numbers were required on rimfire firearms. So, I removed the stock, and in a hidden spot on the metal I engraved an identifying number (drivers license) so I can prove it if ever that ID is needed.

You're only looking at one of prints for the belts:

Odds are very high that you will be looking at the top part number.
