My old B2400 has a charging system fault and I have to trickle charge the battery from time to time until I can get it to the shop for repair; and occasionally have to jump start it. I've noticed that if I crank up the rpms past 2600 the charging light flickers and temporarily goes out - but I don't tend to run it this high and after a few minutes the light comes back on anyway. Despite this annoyance it usually starts/runs fine between charges.

Last week I added fuel to the tank and jump-started it on a sub-freezing night and then let it warm up in idle for a few minutes. It ran smooth for about five minutes and I was driving it around to hook up a scraper blade when it abruptly shut off while I was in the seat (it didn't putter out, it stalled instantly like a switch was thrown). I hoped maybe I had ice in the fuel line, so a few days later when things had warmed above freezing (low-40's) I drained the fuel filter and fuel line (didn't find any obstruction). I charged the battery overnight. Tried starting again today and nothing: no contact, no lights, no cranking. The fuses in the fuse box are not blown. This has never happened before (I've had the tractor for several years - third owner). Not sure if I should look elsewhere for a fuse/switch, buy a new battery (present Kubota battery is only 2-3 years old) or winch it onto the trailer and haul it into the professional shop.
