I think it might be a plastic cover plug that's missing. It's used to cover up the nut that you remove, so you can replace the electrical 'coil' that controls oil flow.
if there's a model number on the valve itself, Google should be able to locate a drawing/picture of what should be there.....

I don't think that is a plug in the stopper sense. I think you are missing the electrical connector for the solenoid on that end of your valve. Look at the other end of the valve. It should have the same connector.

Here is an example picture of the ISO electrical connector commonly used on those valves.. i think the hex gland nut is the part that's missing on yours. Where is the electrical wire that connects to that end of the valve? Find it and you may find the nut....
