Hi I have a 1995 B7100 hst with a front end loader and was wanting to add power steering. I saw pictures of some here that had it. Is there a kit that will work or what do I need. Thanks
I am not clear who you are asking, but if it is me , yes you can do the same as I did, and either run it off the tractor hydraulics or add a power steering pump from a car and run it off that. I will see if I can include a close up picture of my set up.Can I do the same for my 79 B7100DT?
ismurphy are you selling the ones like this? ThanksFWIW-
This is a very rare all in one steering valve and cylinder.......there is a story here but I've forgotten most of it and it's not relevant anyway......but it is interesting.
I only got $350 for it to a collector, my market was small as no one even knew it existed.
Mike I'm about 70 or 80 miles N E of Knoxville in Helenwood Tn. How far are you from Nashville? I go that way quite often. I like your setup looks good great pictures. Thanks
Hi Mike where are you getting your pressure and return from going to the power steering valve? Thanks Jamesmidnightman,
I added power steering to my 1995 b7100hst using a control valve from a john deere 400 lawn tractor and a hydraulic cylinder, I was going to use a car pump to power it but could not bring myself to cut the side panel and hood to run the belt out to the pump. Ended up running it off the tractor hydraulic. I am very happy with it. At the time I did mine the guy who offered a kit was out of business ( he was not happy with the clyinder he was using from over seas and he was trying to make his own cylinder/control valve) I got tired of waiting and just made up my own.
He is back in business now and offers a cylinder/ control valve unit all in one piece, which I like , I think it runs about $500.00. I don't have his web site with me but I may be able to find it for you.

James,Hi Mike where are you getting your pressure and return from going to the power steering valve? Thanks James
The system I installed, I put together myself, control valve came from ebay, it's off an old john deere garden tractor, hydraulic cylinder from surplus center, hoses and fitting I bought local. Total cost $250.00.Let me ask you guys a question..........
The valve-on-cylinder system you are installing is a one-off or proprietary design. Is it not?
What will you do if you need it serviced or replacement parts in 2 years or so and the guy selling these units is out of business or can no longer get parts?
Just outside Newport. Off 40 between Knox and Asheville. The system I installed, I put together myself, control valve came from ebay, it's off an old john deere garden tractor, hydraulic cylinder from surplus center, hoses and fitting I bought local. Total cost $250.00.
One of the nice things about my system , and the one that James is using, is that you don't cut the pitman arm and both systems can be removed and manual steering can be restored in about 10 mins.
Where is Parrrottsville Tn ?
