Well I went to look at a used BH77 with two buckets 10" & 16" and a mechanical thumb. Looked pretty good, so I went ahead and bought it. Now I need to buy the sub-frame so I can use it.

Keep eye on eBay. I bought a complete sub frame and hoses from Messicks for L3400!! It was NOS half price of a new one. Now it is on dad's L3800. Few minutes of checking part numbers and all the basic L s are the same.

I have been looking on eBay, but all the sub-frames I've found are for Bs.

Make sure you plumb an extra valve for a hydraulic thumb. I got very tired of jumping on and off the BH to adjust it...went and did this. Now, it is the most handy thing about my tractor...

I strongly suggest you install one.

Do you have any picture of how you plumb it in?

Doesn't show how I broke into the system...but gives you some ideas. Next time I am at my place I will try to remember to get some photos of the other hoses.

I set this up so I could run a TnT set up for my box blade to...so that is why the controls are where they are...I can run the thumb form the BH seat...or the TnT from the drivers seat...works great.
