Just got the new 2601 and I had my son in law do the first mowing as I had other chores. About 2 hours later he came back saying "that's the worst riding tractor I've ever been on". Later I had a chance to finally use it. Wow was it a rough ride. However i had been through this on my old B2410. We need the AG style tires and the dealer had them inflated to almost 50#. I quickly reduced the pressure to 32# and now it feels like the tractor I did have. So much better. I don't know how low you can go on pressure, safely, but never had a problem at 30 to 32 # before. If you do this just pay attention to your tires because you want to be safe. Maybe someone else has also done this or knows what you can run on the low side.

I deflate until the entire width of the tire tread makes contact with the ground. That is just what I do but have never had any issue.

The table is from my L3901 Operator's manual. I have AG tires, so back 14PSI and the front 26PSI. 50PSI is a lot of air in any of the tires listed.

Another sidewall reader. Pressure marked on tire is what it gets. Wrong!
As per operators manual.
My buddy is notorious for over inflating tires. Makes his green thing feel horribly unstable.

Unless you have an older Ford Explorer. Remember when they had all the lawsuits because the Firestone tires were blowing off.......well my door stickers says to run 24 PSI in the tires.

No wonder they were heating up and blowing on the freeways.

I remember that, didnt know tire pressure setting was that low. 24 psi may have been sufficient, but a slow leak didnt give much leeway to when the tire was dangerously low.
Reason why TPMS is now standard on most vehicles. They are great, when they work.
