Hydraulic Failures

I have a B2150HSD that was just finished being restored and now has some peculiar hydraulic issues. Extensive pictures were taken during the restore to ensure reassembly was correct - just in case!

Had to split the tractor during restore to put in a new clutch so the hydraulics were completely drained. New o-rings at every fitting and new UDT and filter. Tractor was started and backed out of the garage after a little waiting for the pump to be primed. Drove it around minus the FEL and eveything worked (3PH and power steering) although it seemed to labor. Added the FEL back and lost the PS, thought maybe the air from the empty FEL caused a problem.

Loader operates fine, little bit of jerky movements still but probably air working its way out, 3PH fine, but still no PS even after driving around a bit and fighting it.

Disconnected the FEL and PS came back immediately, however, the motor labors and almost stalls at idle. The hydraulic lines around the distribution block (right side by your foot) get HOT - too hot to touch after about 3-5 mins. Also can hear the fluid moving, possibly air passing through?

Hook the loader up again and laboring goes away, FEL works through all its cycles but no PS. Lines cool back down quickly.

Have read issues related back to the diverter valve being plugged/held open but haven't inspected yet. Did loosen the air bleed screw at the top of the DV and got a bit of air out.

And to mention, all the lines are matched how they were ran prior to restore. They also match the B8200HST outside.

Thoughts?

Post a picture of the hydraulic block and what lines go where.
Also, when you remove the loader are you turning the valve on the block?

Here is my setup, tried to label common across all three. I did not turn that knob, I assumed all it did was relieve the stress on the quick connects further forward - is there more to it?

It was concerning how hot the pipes and fluid got so quickly, plus the ability to audibly hear fluid moving.

I'm pretty sure you have the hoses hooked up wrong.

What you have as B (you have hooked to PB) is Pressure.
What you have as sump/tank (You have hooked to sump/tank) is Power Beyond
What you have as A (you have hooked to pressure) is sump/tank.
So your feeding the valve in reverse and the PB is dumping to the tank.
To must turn the valve one direction for when the loader is on and the other for when the loader is off for everything to work right.
Just to make sure what loader and valve do you have?

The loader is a LA350, valve is unknown - I can attempt to find some info on it once I get home tonight. The odd thing is I hooked the hoses back up the way they were at time of purchase, which to my knowledge only had a bad PTO clutch - everything else worked.

What you described makes sense though. If lines are changed at the quick connect area, will the spool operate backwards thus requiring the 4 cylinder lines to be swapped as well?

So I moved some hoses around, was planning on moving quick connect fittings but learned there are 2 - 1/2 NPT fittings and one 3/8 JIC at the tractor side so that rules out moving anything more than where the male/females go.

That said, I moved the 3 lines at the spool valve to follow the attached plan. Had to make an assumption as to what the IN and PB port were on the valve. I fired the tractor up and immediately it was laboring. Controls were reversed and could only dump the bucket, never to get it to roll back. Shut down for the night and took pictures.

Only thing left to try is swap the IN and PB hose because I think I have the SUMP hose correct now.

Re: Hydraulic Failures - - - RESOLUTION

I have studied and studied all the hydraulic lines, valves and systems on this tractor to the point I feel I'm an expert now. Everything pointed to either an improper FEL spool connection or the priority valve.

Unscrewed the PV and took a look inside. Bingo!

Blocked by two pieces of old O-ring from somewhere else in the system, don't ask where... no leaks anywhere else thus far so we'll just leave it at that. Might have happened at disassembly, who knows.

Can anyone tell me what the sizes are, for the hydraulic ports, on the hydraulic block, to hook up a FEL on my b8200?
