The tachometer is not working. So, I disconnected the cable at the engine and I start the engine. The drive spins. The spline on the cable is not broken. So, I grab the cable shaft to spin it and the end comes off in my hands. I don't think this is what the cable is supposed to do.
I guess a replacement cable is in order.
