I’m replacing the following:
Front Axle case oil seal #T0270-1315-2
Front Axle oil seal #37650-4353-0
Front Axle o-ring #31353-4413-0

The front axle case oil seal is leaking.

QUESTIONS:
1) The existing gear oil remains pooled in the valleys. Should I pump out all of the oil or not?
2) Should I be aware of anything else while I have this disassembled?
3) Do I need to grease anything? I assume the new fluid I add will lubricate everything.

Just an FYI...

During disassembly I'd take extra time to thoroughly inspect the bearings to make certain they are not contributing to the leak. Worn bearings will allow the shaft to move making it difficult for the seal to perform its function.

Be sure to grease the lip of the seal before sliding the propeller shaft back in and I reuse the 'O' ring. The outboard planetary is chamfered to fit the 'O' ring so no replacement is needed unless it's torn. There is no gasket or seal of any kind between the outboard and the center section but I recommend a smear of 3 Bond on the mating surfaces to insure they don't leak. Just had mine apart and replaced the center section to outboard seal. Finally, when you install the seal, make note of which way it came out and don't forget to install the shim before installing the propeller shaft and bearings.

Guy must really be flush. I've never seen anyone work on a piece of equipment on an engineered hardwood floor before.:D

I would ask the dealer about the optional front axle breather kit. I put one on my L3000 and have never had another leak.

You'll never get all the oil out even if you pump it... Don't worry about that, just refill with fresh oil. I use 80-90 GL5 gear oil in both mine, not UDT or SUDT.

200mph. I am familiar with inspecting bearings on expensive mountain bikes (preferred equipment!), however, what should I be looking for regarding tractor axle bearings?

Here is what I think:
Shiny bearings not rusty or marred
Smooth operation without any grittiness

Thanks
