Hi. I’m new to the forum and a total rookie with diesel maintenance and problem diagnosis. I have an L48 I bought used a few years ago and I put maybe 50 hours on it per year. I have been having a sporadic problem with the motor suddenly dying when it’s been idling for 10 minutes, or so. Usually when I turn off the key and turn it on again, and I do not hear the fuel solenoid click and sure enough, it cranks but doesn’t start. Then on maybe the third or fourth try, I hear the solenoid click and sure enough, it starts back up again. I might not have the problem again all day. The other day it did this but the solenoid refused to click. After 15 minutes of trying and waiting and trying and waiting....maybe 20 times, the solenoid finally clicked and it started. Could someone please explain to me, the idiot, what is happening and what I need to do to fix it? Thanks very much for any advice***129322;
