I ordered one of these a few days ago from Buzzard Gulch Inc. so you know it had to be good! Made by Univer-Co, Napierville, QC, Canada. UC-2118, Cost #31.75 no shipping or tax.

It's a quality constructed fitting. Total length is 2". Has a knurled surface with a slight flange to grip to open the coupling. 10,000 PSI pressure rating. My main reason in purchasing this particular product is I saw them in the local NAPA and played with it a while and was impressed with the metal, it's length, and how if functioned.

There are a few variation of the lock-n-lube coupler. No one coupler is going to be perfect for all applications. The challenges are depth to reach the fitting, like a PTO shaft under a shield. For this coupling folks have commented it's difficult to release the flange with greasy hands. I keep my hands clean enough that has not been a problem.

There is one guy on YouTube declaring this coupling as a piece of junk and how good L-N-L is. Interesting part of his complaining video is he never released the outside slide part to allow the coupling to attach!

What do you use and why do you prefer it?

I vote the Univer-co, it has worked flawlessly for 5 years for me. Never tried the LnL, but it seems too big for my liking.

Love my LnL. Never had an issue for about a year.

Lock n Lube because if you put it on a stopped up grease fitting you can still get it off. On the other style you have to bleed off the pressure before it will release.

Ditto on the LNL. I have the standard size on my 20v gun and the XL on my pneumatic. I went through a lot of different ones before settling on LNL.

Double ditto on the LNL

There are two zerks I have to hold my tongue "just" right to get the LNL on - the Bx25D.

the one in the floor board
the one on the pivot of the hoe.

LNL is the catz azz as far as I am concerned ;)

They are both quality products. The LnL is easier to unlock but the Univer needs less room. If a guy is only going to have one, it depends on how many tight spots your equipment has.

I run the LNL and haven't had any problem with it fitting. The tightest access I ran into was the MMM drive shaft u-joints - but if you rotated it just right - the LNL fit (deck was off the tractor)

Yea I agree. Takes a certain eyebrow furrow for those two points but it works.

LnL always stays on the nipple when you want it to and comes off just as easy...and you never have to get vice grips to unscrew the jaw chuck because your greasy gloves cant grip anything.
