I have an L2900 with a fluid leak where the tube from the hydraulic filter enters the transmission. Will I have to remove the filter assembly to replace the O ring?

Yes I do believe so.

EDIT: No you shouldn't have to remove the filter housing to fix it.

Yes the filter assembly will have to be partially removed. The tube where it enters the transmission (suction tube assembly-040) is rigid-and won't come out far enough unless you remove the 2 bolts (020) that hold the filter assembly (010) to the case. Then you should have enough slack to pull it from the transmission housing.
