The L2600 should be the same as the L285 according to this chart

However according to TractorData.com...

The L2600 has a D1403 3 Cylinder Diesel 85 ci. (1.4l)

The L285 has a V1500-A 4 Cylinder Diesel 90.7 ci. (1.5l)

And both of these should have a spin on filter?

The L2000 which has a D1100A 3 Cylinder Diesel 68.3 ci. (1.1l)
uses a NAPA 7030 Cartridge Oil Filter.

I would bring the old one to NAPA and have them match it up,
or check with Messicks or Coleman, they are both very helpful

What is really confusing is there is 2 runs of the L2600, one old (grey) and one new (non-grey).

Old model V1500
New model D1403

No they are not the same tractor.

Are you sure it's a cartridge filter as this list shows a spin on filter.
Note: Sometimes there is just an adapter on it that turns it into a cartridge for use in locals that the cartridges were more common.

Thanks-pretty sure it has the cartridge type oil filter. Looks like one on the other old kubota cartridge filters might fit but hate to take it off and it not fit or can't find one. Looks to be about 5" or so. Thanks for any help. I'll try and post a couple pictures soon
