Quick background: I bought the tractor with a bad motor. After an exhaustive search for a v1702 or v1902 in good condition, I settled for a low hour v2203.

Now the problem: the injection pump cam must be changed to a shaft with the splined end to operate the hydraulic pump. I swapped in the shaft from the v1702, but it the lobes seem to have a smaller base circle resulting in less lift. With the injection pump installed, pump lifters don't make contact with the cam except near the top of the lobe. I didn't take note of the fit prior to removing the original v2203 cam.

I would appreciate any comments / suggestions to help me over this hurdle.

Not sure if you are still reading this forum but I sent you a PM.

I am finding access to more 2203 engines as well, seems they are a dime a dozen in comparison to the 1702 as they seem to be used in many skid loader applications.

I am interested in what your final outcome was and what was all involved in the swap or if it was a direct bolt in.
