Met online another Kubota Diesel bike builder. He's using the D950 from an Onan Generator in a Harley Frame. He's wondering how to change Governor to variable speed instead of constant speed. Another thread in here about V2203" on similar topic said parts where available to swap this cause V2203 was also used in tractors. Well the D950 was also used in Kubota tractors, Excavators, Bobcats etc. sooooo... is a variable governor set up available for them too?

Can anyone point us in the right direction on this. Especially since Kubota is PITA and requires Model and serial number and your child's left nut before they will order things.

On the generator motors the throttle set screws for high and low idle are just screwed in to lock the throttle at the desired rpms. It should already be a variable speed governor. Techs have to have a way to adjusg the rpms on the generators sometimes. ;) To set max rpm and idle rpm it's just a matter of backing off the screws till you get to the preferred rpms. On the d905 and d1005 engines they are keyed to except a throttle cable. I would assume the two motors your talking about would have a similar set up. It should be fairly simple to add a motor cycle throttle cable to the existing set up.
