Being new to owning a compact tractor I've just realised there are different types of rear 3PT linkage. Can someone tell me what the difference is between cat 0, cat 1 & cat 2 linkages. I'm using a old Zen Hon ZL2201 (Kubota L245) within my small fencing & landscaping business with the intention of powering a post driver, auger & various other implements but need no find out which linkage my tractor uses. What are the differences ? Can I use cat 2 on say a cat1 or vice versa ? In the past the only tractors I've used were all full size agricultural tractors with implements to suit so I haven't had this problem. As I'm on the lookout for various second hand implements I want to be sure I'm getting the correct bits for my tractor. Any help appreciated.

sometimes you can move from one cat to another....but depending on which way you go - you break something on the tractor ......or break the implement!

Your ZL2201 is a Cat 1 setup tractor.
You're not going to get the proper use out of cat 2 implements (You don't have enough Horse Power)

When you get the chance. Review the Ultimate READ ME in each section of this forum. You will find links to answers of many questions you have as well as answers to questions you didn't yet know to ask.
Granted then you'll have questions not in there and we'd love to plod on along with you thru them.
Example; all the cat descriptions are in the READ ME for this forum.
ps- if you find any real informative post or threads let me know and I'll put them into the links list contained in the appropriate Read Me.
Go to tractor supply and look on the wall where the tractor stuff is. Take a picture of the chart they have. It can get very confusing.
