L4060 HST oil filter change 50hr

The reason I hooked up the ShopVac and parked on an incline was because I had seen videos of people having problems getting the new filters to thread straight on because of the angle/cramped space/slippery surfaces. It didn't turn out to be a big problem, but did take a few seconds to get...

L4060 HST oil filter change 50hr

Had a little sticker shock with the Kubota filters, but bought them anyway and plan to continue to use them. Kinda like buying a filter for an airplane. No sense pushing your luck to save a few (even more than a few) bucks. I have seen a video that suggests saving the old magnetic ring and...

L4060 HST oil filter change 50hr

There is all sorts of stuff on the web in forums and videos that talk about the 50 hr filter change with or without a fluid change. As I understand the manual, at 50, you change both the transmission (the short one) and the hydraulic (the longer one with the magnet in it) oil filters at 50, but...

    3 point chipper?

Correct, no controllable hydraulic infeed. May be an issue for professional everyday use. It works fine for most I have fed it. 5" oak that has dried for months in the TX sun may or may not work ... it will take out the PTO shaft shear bolt depending on how hard it is.

    3 point chipper?

WoodMaxx 8500G+ says it needs a min of 15 PTO HP. It's a nice chipper. I ran at 540 for the first time this week & it did well on everything fed into it. Produces about a 3/4" X 1/2" X 1/4" chip on most things I gave it. But if you feed it small twigs, you might just get 4-6" long twig...

    Tooth Bar??

Thanks. Good idea to have yet another use for the old Farmall! My first projects will not be digging either, but that's in the works. May be moving some driveway base course, so am hoping the small amount I will be doing won't dull the teeth because I plan to leave it on while doing that...

    Tooth Bar??

I installed the bar perhaps a little differently. In my pictures you can see that the "hooks" on the top side of the bar are pushed up further against the original bucket edge than you show. The hooks don't really fit my bucket edge taper well so there are 4 options not involving welding that...

Grapple, Add-A-Grapple, or 4 way Bucket

I'm afraid I resemble your Dad ... ouch! I've used up literally weeks researching the "perfect" solution. Meanwhile, the number and size of piles of stuff around the property just keep getting bigger! Time to pull the trigger and get after it or put the back to use with the wheelbarrow & the...

Grapple, Add-A-Grapple, or 4 way Bucket

Awesome, thanks. You make it look like you could actually almost run a logging company with that setup! I noticed on the vertical edges of your bucket (i.e. NOT the horizontal tooth bar) it looks like you might have welded some little points or something on there presumably to help grip stuff...

Grapple, Add-A-Grapple, or 4 way Bucket

I have a similar problem and have not bought anything yet because of all the pro and con weigh-ins. Most posts, except for those from New Zealand, say a 4 in 1 is not good because it is too heavy and a jack of all trades, master of none. Yet they turn around and say buy a grapple that weighs...

    Front backhoe usefulness?

I'm surprised they show pushing that tree over because I think they specifically say somewhere else on their site not to do that. Maybe I saw that somewhere else, but I think it was on their site. I know they don't want you doing it with the standard grapple with the long bottom tines, but I...

    Front backhoe usefulness?

I'm convinced. No fronthoe - thanks for saving me $2k plus whatever the tractor repairs would have cost! For trenching, plan ahead & use a rented DitchWitch. For picking up, I'm still not quite on board with the grapple even though I see rave reviews of them all over the web, although it is...

WoodMaxx MX-8500G+ PTO Chipper review - it's great w/o power feed.

I talked to Woodmaxx & they confirmed that the driver is required to move the pallet to the back door even if you do not get a liftgate.

    Front backhoe usefulness?

Well, I was all stoked to get a Titan Fronthoe with a 10" bucket and thumb at $2,080 to use with an LA805 loader until I read this. Now I'm worried. Here's the logic I was using: 1. Won't be used a lot, but when I want it, the rental availability of a mini ex is unlikely to be there in our...

WoodMaxx MX-8500G+ PTO Chipper review - it's great w/o power feed.

I'm ordering this week, so don't have delivery experience yet. My understanding is that if you do not get the liftgate, the driver is still supposed to get the pallet to the back of the truck, anyone know if that's correct? Even with a 2501 and LA525 loader arms with forks, you should be able...

Advice on tractor for 7.5 acres - Mowing pasture and general use - L3902? What flail mower?

DR PRO 475 at 11.7 HP gas driven vs the B2601 diesel powered 19.5 HP at the PTO - Kubota wins.

Advice on tractor for 7.5 acres - Mowing pasture and general use - L3902? What flail mower?

I thought twice about buying a regen, and there is definitely something to be said for NOT having everything tied to a CPU - but these days it's hard to find much new equipment without some sort of computer or PLC electronic management system somewhere in the electrical system of the equipment...

    How to dig a trench

In a pinch, I wonder if you could do a shallow trench just using a middle buster off the 3pt and move even faster than a rented trencher. For small light duty excavating and picking up logs & boulders, anybody have any experience with the Titan front hoe ( e.g. Item No. 123101 ) and thumb on a...

WoodMaxx MX-8500G+ PTO Chipper review - it's great w/o power feed.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it would make good chips for garden mulching, walkways & smokers without trying to mess with chip size at all.
