    Engine swap on L2501

You probably could, but I'd remove the injection pump spacer instead. Note: I haven't done this, but it's temping to do sometime in the future.

Does a Rear Blade Exist that Does All This?

Cool, but my post was 3 1/2 months ago. Maybe you always wait that long to buy. Maybe OP hasn’t bought yet.

I despise buying home appliances such as refrigerators!

From all I've heard, they don't make them like they used to. They seem to be more disposable than repairable.

    Cheater, cheater.........

I’m not sure what the machine does. Is it just something to rotate the material? If so, it looks like a small piece would work fine, but what about a large irregular length piece?

Can't decide on a tractor for the life of me.

Sure, it's possible to consider it an upgrade if you include lawnmowers. However, in the compact tractor world, the BX is the smallest you can go. The typical path is BX to something larger also with loader, 3 pt, attachments, etc. That makes it not something that people with a compact...

Can't decide on a tractor for the life of me.

BXs are for sale because nobody upgrades to a BX. That being said, if it's been maintained fairly well, that's a good deal. Based on what you described, it should do all you want.

What do you think happened? Please view pictures

I guess it depends on the price, but mostly, I think it would be relatively easy to fix for someone with metal working tools.

He wanted to but had a feeling they were going bankrupt. ;) But, of course, some people can break anything.

Neil Messick in a video explained how you can dramatically increase the force on a grapple using leverage of your load. I'm thinking an uneven load overloaded/torqued the one side, but as others have said, grease wouldn't hurt.

    Not complaining, but wow, snow

I really don’t mind the snow. I was going to mow the yard, but based on the amount of snow on the car, I guess not today.

Binders and Chains or Ratchet Straps

You can add tie down points to the tractor to prevent scratching. My tractor has only been on a trailer once since I bought it for delivery. I believe they used straps. There are a lot of really crappy straps with hard to use ratchets. However, many of the loads you see on tractor trailers...

    Trailer or drive it.

I think it depends on what the 12 miles is like and what the locals are used to. If they regularly see tractors, then it's probably not a big deal to drive it. Our backroads are up to 65, but there are tractors driving the roads regularly. If you can drive during the slower times, everyone...

    Fuel additive Startron vs Soltron

For gasoline, it's better not to use Ethanol fuel. However, there are additives to counter the impact like Sea-Foam or most any fuel injection cleaner. Also, consider using carb cleaner from time to time. For diesel, I use PowerService Diesel Kleen. They make both a winter and summer formula.

    Document fee

I bet if you'll pay a bit more for the mower they'll wave it. ;). Seriously though, it's a line item on the purchase order. You could ask them to remove it. I agree that at the end of the day, it's how much the out the door price is that matters.

Loaned my tiller to my BIL

Glad you got it done! I believe the JD 3520 is a bit smaller/lighter than the L2501/2. As others have noted, the L2501/2 acts like it has more HP than it does with great torque.

Anybody dealt with House of Contractors out of Canada?

I have no experience with them, but I generally trust my gut. I don't know about you. YMMV.

Implement Process for Preparing New Land

What are you wanting to plant? Fwiw, you are looking at small tractors with little capability for significant ground engagement. You might consider hiring a local to rock pick etc since it will be a one time thing depending on what you are wanting to plant.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Pulled an old apple tree out from the rear draw bar, of course. It's the first time I used the D-ring that I added a while back. Consolidated my burn pile to a smaller size and added the apple tree to it. Added sand to the newly created burn pit.

    Snow Removal.

You might need chains on the rear, but otherwise, I see people using lawn tractors around here although most have blades on the front. I don't know, but I think the shaft drive would have less of a tendency to fail at inopportune times. Belts tend to slip more when it's cold/whet and can come...
