    World's most expensive box

Well, maybe not the most expensive, but it is amazing how quickly some materials from the local home supply store add up in cost. Just a simple box, father and son project, to help haul miscellaneous stuff around using the pallet forks. If anyone is interested in painting their house to match...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

Well, I'm back to the drawing board regarding my "simple" B2601 hood lift mod project. My fear of the mounting tape failing where the stock bracket attaches to the underside of the hood was warranted. I didn't actually let it fail completely, so I need to decide if I want to reverse my changes...

Question about grease zerks on my Kubota B2320.

Sorry Drummerbobby, I guess it's better to go to the official source and be sure. :) Curious to hear what you learn.

Question about grease zerks on my Kubota B2320.

Button Head fitting was the first thing that came to mind for me. I think they can come with or without a ball check valve. Would seem odd to mix the two types on the same equipment. Pic is from McMaster.

B2601 but what implements and attachments?

My dealer would have sold me Kubota forks with some convincing. His starting position was to point at a pallet full of new fork frames from a brand I didn't recognize (not that I'm an expert) and try to sell me one of them. I know there will be a desire to get rid of in-stock items, but it is...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

SheepFarmer, this is on a B2601. The metal spring is actually going from the stock hood prop to the metal bracket you see bolted to the firewall. The gas spring is blocking that detail in the picture. The metal spring keeps the prop from flopping around and probably more importantly, it keeps...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

I'm planning to use the stock hood prop bracket for the hood attachment point. I have included a pic that shows it temporarily installed. The pic was taken looking backward toward the firewall and up into the open hood. Not sure what to do with lower attach point, but I have a bracket...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

My "gas spring" and a couple brackets arrived from McMaster. Looks encouraging, but I won't be able to do much with it for a few days. I don't think they make a perfect sized gas spring for my planned attach points: 1) small-enough when compressed to close the hood and 2) large enough to allow...

B2601 but what implements and attachments?

I ended-up getting a Land Pride PFL also, but from a different dealer than my hometown dealer this weekend. It is a little-bit of overkill, but not as much overkill as what my dealer was selling and it was less expensive too.

B2601 but what implements and attachments?

I stopped at my local Kubota dealer today to ask for a price quote on the Kubota-brand pallet forks for my B2601 LA434 loader with quick attach. I was told that Kubota does not make pallet forks and I was shown a third party option (non-OEM) which looked fine, but after I left I was confused...

    first impression: my new 2601

I think you'll be pleased to find the FEL float position is all the way forward. It is a pretty stiff detent on mine. Unless you can't have a float function on Canada-sold machines? ;)

How to run the PTO while I'm not on the operators seat.

Yup, theory-to-practice holds true . . . If you have a swiveling seat for a backhoe configuration, you might need to release the seat into the swivelable position as the equivalent to tipping the seat. I tried it on my B2601 and it worked as expected. Just need to rewrite the Kubota manual...

How to run the PTO while I'm not on the operators seat.

N.I.W., I swear that I only see one switch. Although that one switch has three leads so maybe it is a SPDT switch . . . I also have a backhoe on my B2601 with the swiveling seat option. If I pull the T-handle to release the seat into the swiveling position, I notice that the seat switch...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

I hastily threw together a McMaster order. I plan to keep the factory prop in place as a safety device while using it and the existing brackets as the strut end points. The dimension specs for the struts are tricky, I don't think I can get the ideal size, so I might need to sacrifice opening...

How to run the PTO while I'm not on the operators seat.

So I checked the shop manual to look at details about the "One Second Delay Engine Stop" logic. The manual does not mention the brakes or parking brake, but it does mention the "seat switch" and "seat tilt switch." The seat switch is obvious and detecting occupied vs. unoccupied is...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

Cool, McMaster-Carr has a "little" selection of gas-spring struts. Various configurations, lengths, and extension forces available.

How to run the PTO while I'm not on the operators seat.

Thank you for your time and for confirming the procedure mdhughes, your version of the procedure is the same as the one I used. If you have a B2601, does it work for you? The only thing I didn't do was "place blocks at the tires." I know these things are smart, but I'm pretty sure they don't...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

All good ideas, thanks everyone. You're not kidding about the brush guard making it awkward. The adjustment on my hood latch is such that I need to pull the release with one hand and try to lift the slippery hand hold with the other. Something like a spring assist/gas cylinder would be...

Looking for clever hood handle idea

I thought about putting a loop of parachute cord at the handhold for lifting the hood(bonnet), then I thought I would ask the group here if anyone has a better idea. Maybe a standard cabinet door handle from the hardware store? I think the holes are about 5/32" That handhold is really...

How to run the PTO while I'm not on the operators seat.

Hmm, I tried the stationary PTO procedure for my B2601 today and it did not stay running. Instead of seat tilt switch, I think there's a parking brake interlock. I'll have to look at that one some more since I did have the (parking) brakes set and it still cut out.
