B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

This little tractor just has a manual shutoff. I ran in Friday and it never did stall this time out. Unfortunately without a tach, I cannot really tell for sure exactly how fast I am running the motor and at what "higher" rpms the probably begins to appear. I started out a little above idle...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

Thanks for the suggestions. In these cases, was the seizing occurring the entire time you were running the motor? Mine is just fine for awhile and then suddenly comes under load. After waiting about 30 seconds, then no load on the motor. After I put the motor back together for the second...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

Yes, the tanked is hooked up and the cap does have a small hole to allow venting. When the motor dies, you definitely hear it bog down and it emits some black smoke as coming under load. It will not turn over unless you wait about 20 to 30 seconds, so I am pretty certain it is not starving for...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

I checked the clutch disengagement and it does appear to be disengaging, but there is still some drag. When you push in the clutch, you can see the input shaft into trans appear to slow down a bit. With the clutch push in fully, I pushed a hammer handle against the outside of the shaft and was...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

It appears the input shaft into the HST continues to rotate with the clutch pushed in??? I will check this again. As I recall, the input shaft appears to slow down but does not come to a complete stop. I will see if I can apply a little back pressure, maybe stick on side of shaft with clutch...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

I have checked this pretty closely and I do not believe there are any problems at this point. This is only used to "add another loop in the system." There is no back pressure on the 3-point system when not in use. A picture is attached.

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

UPDATE: I have continued to try to get this tractor running without any problems. Before, it would idle for about 5 minutes before it bogged down and died or run about 2 minutes at higher speed before doing the same. I convinced myself it was not the motor and checked the 3-point lift to see...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

Well, the mystery continues. After looking at the repair manual numerous times to determine how to check the hydraulic relief pressure, I finally decided the poor picture is showing the pressure gauge attached at the banjo fitting where the high pressure line connects beneath the seat coming...

    test hydraulic system pressure B7100

Unfortunately, I do not have a loader. Any other ideas???

    test hydraulic system pressure B7100

I am trying to test the pressure on the hydraulics of my B7100. My copy of the repair manual has a very poor picture that shows where the measure the pressure and I cannot tell where to install the gauge. The picture shows a bold/plug (spring holder??) directly below the 3-point control lever...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

The "lever" shown in the diagram is apparently missing on my tractor. There is a stem with a pin through it that is turned cross-wise to the orientation of the fitting or the lever shown in the diagram?? Looks like the stem should be turned to the right; will check.

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

I have not checked the feedback rod, but take a look to see if there looks to be a possible issue related to it. Could this result in the type of feedback I am getting that sounds like gears try to mesh when raising the lift arms???

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

Does anyone have any experience with the thee-point lift feeling like it is engaging a gear set when moving to "up" position? My other Kubota is 400+ miles away right now, so I cannot compare between the two, but I don't every recall feeling another quite like this. It sounds just like quick...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

I am pretty sure the valves are good, as I just set them. I am not sure the difference in temp at the measurement points mean a lot??? It could just be due to "center" reading being in the center of mass??? It really seems to stop fairly quickly, not like compression slow fading and if you...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

It does not have a loader. It only had a mid-mount mower when I bought it and I did remove the mower.

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

Yes, the motor does clearly indicate (at least to me) it is bogging down before it dies. this is the reason I took it all back apart and back to machine shop. However, there were no signs of any wear on any of the parts and all tolerances were good. It also emits a little black smoke as it...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

I did install a clear line between the lift pump and injection pump and no signs of air bubbles or otherwise running out of fuel.

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

I checked the fuel pressure from the lift pump earlier and it was pretty close to what is expected. I also had a clear line from the lift pump to injection pump for a bit and no signs of running out of fuel or air in line.

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

UPDATE My new infrared temp gauge finally arrived so I was able to actually measure the temperature after running the tractor. Started it up and it ran for right at 2 minutes before bogging down and dying while emitting a small amount of black smoke. I took measurements of the top of the...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

before putting it back together the second time, I checked every oil passage and all were clear. A new oil pressure gauge shows about 45 psi - steady. When I tore it down after it did this (apparent seizing) the first time, neither I nor the guys at the machine shop could find any indication...
