    Hard, smoky starting

Preliminary results suggest this was the fix. Last time I got it started (2 days ago), and before I did any work with it, I added some (75 ml) Lucas fuel conditioner with injector cleaner (designed/marketed for both gas and diesel engines) and topped up the tank with the fuel I have on hand (not...

    Hard, smoky starting

Didn’t seem to make any difference after about 45 seconds of heating the plugs. 🤔

    Hard, smoky starting

This is my suspicion too. The way the symptoms start and stop so abruptly has me thinking an injector is sticking. I bought some Lucas injector cleaner and new fuel filters. I like the ohm test idea. Will get to these items as priorities dictate…. Hopefully soon….ish.

    Hard, smoky starting

Ok, well I guess plugs would eventually need to be replaced, and if that ends up not fixing the issue, at least they’re likely going to need replacing before me and the machine get buried together, and they won’t go bad before then (…. Might get lost in my disorganized shop but….)

    Hard, smoky starting

Smoke is white-ish and I’d say moderately bellowing. You might be on to something with the fuel grade. It’s likely diesel I bought in the summer. I’ll try buying some fresh stuff, which I assume should be switched over to the thinner mix for the winter?

    Hard, smoky starting

Hey all It’s been a while. A testament to how well these machines usually run. My 2012 BX25 with 1470 hours on it has just recently started having some problems with the first start of the day. Now that we’re getting colder (but not freezing) nights, I’ve been holding the glow plugs on for...

Must Haves for new BX25D: Shield Plates, Tow Hitch, Fuel Shut & Quick Attach

If I had a buzzbox back when I did this, I'd have gotten a little more creative and tried to get the ball mounted a bit closer to the front of the bucket (still might try that if I think I'll have to start moving trailers around on a regular basis) because I've have to be careful to keep an eye...

    BX25D 3" rear wheel spacers

If the wheel has to be taken off to get at the bolts for the spacers, do that. Re-toque the spacers (without removing them first), then reinstall the wheels with correct torque. After another use of the machine (a couple of hours worth), re-torque the wheels onto the spacers. Sent from my...

    Checking fluid levels in BX25

Thanks guys....(and/or gals) I really appreciate the input and wisdom.....and humor. I'm still, after 400+ hours of operation into this unit, constantly blown away by how blurry the line is between getting work done and having fun. My wife has commented more than once about the silly grin on my...

    Checking fluid levels in BX25

Hello all, Forgive me if this subject has been addressed elsewhere but I seem to be having problems (on 2 different computers) conducting a search (the search text entry box keeps disappearing immediately after clicking on the search....thingy). I've just taken on the servicing of my 2012 BX25...

How does the BX25 park brake work?

Thanks for the replies, guys. It never hurts to remind people about safety issues, Larry. I've been guilty in the past of cutting a few safety corners but crawling under heavy things is not something do in a casual manner. I'm a fan of plenty of solid wood blocking. So if the brake is only...

How does the BX25 park brake work?

Hey all, Today I was installing the grapple on the front end of my BX25 (more about that later) and I discovered something that surprised me about the park brake. I had the rear of the machine off the ground, blocked up with one wheel removed and the other just barely clearing the ground. I had...

    BX25 transmission braking

OK. You got me. Guilty as charged. I had no counter weight behind me at all. Because of the ditch cleaning work I was doing on my 2km ....sorry....1 1/2 MILE long driveway, the short length with no rear attachments was quite advantageous in some of the tighter spots. Luckily, I have finished...

    BX25 transmission braking

That's darn good advice...a little late for me, though. I learned that lesson a while back when heading down a hill on my gravel driveway. My front bucket was full of gravel, and, as the user manual had suggested in order to keep from wearing out the tire tread too quickly, I had it in 2WD. When...

    BX25 transmission braking

Hi guys. I'm new to both the world of Kubota and to the world of forums. I've been searching for an answer to a question on OTT but no luck so far. It's just passing curiosity, really, about the braking system on my (new to me - 2012 - 30 hours on it, basically brand new) BX25 and how it seems...
