    Battery Idiot Light

The battery light warns of low electrolyte level in the battery. It is separate from the charging system idiot light. The Kubota batteries accept a sensor and they do cost big bucks. Mine had a NAPA battery when we got it and the electrolyte sensor circuit has been jumped to get the light to...

    L4600DT shuttle question

That sounds like an impressive demonstration and I believe every word of it. Hydros can be extremely handy at times, especially when dealing with hills. I own an hydrostatic garden tractor, Cub Cadet 986 to be exact, and it is extremely strong. The thing I like about my Cub is that ground...

Front wheel assist, when to use or when not to use it?

Yep, I had a tow truck driver in Maine tell me that 4WD will get you stuck where only 4WD can go.

Hard to impossible to start glow plugs test good

All good tips so far. I really think the valve clearance needs to be checked. The fact that it starts harder (or not at all) when hot makes me think the valve clearance is too tight. Valve clearance decreases as the engine heats up, causing the valve stems to expand. It might be just enough...

    Photos of tractors on angles

Check out this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8F-Y2w_3eo It appears to be a demonstration of how the ROPS works. I know they rolled the tractor intentionally, but it surprised me at how easy it was to do. Upon further review, I found this clip:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qK0KyKg_m0...

    1989 L3250 DT PTO Clutch

Go to kubotabooks.com and download the Operator's Manual. The L2250, 2550, 2850 and 3250 are covered by the same manual. It details the adjustment procedure. The clutch switch functions just like one in a manual transmission car. The clutch pedal closes a switch which completes the starter...

6 more hours to first service

It seems to me that if you have an older gear transmission tractor any good quality UTF will do, including Kubota UDT. I certainly wouldn't put anything but SUDT2 in a late model hydro, especially if that's what came in it originally. Like others have said before me, oil is (relatively) cheap...
