Charging System - Dummy Light On & Confirming Dynamo Test

Many thanks to Dave_eng and Lugbolt. After following the instructions they provided I found the red wire had corroded and come loose in the 6 pin wire connector. Some solder and shrink wrap and it is back to charging. Great to have everything working again! This forum has been a big...

Charging System - Dummy Light On & Confirming Dynamo Test

Ah gotcha. Yeah no probes into the battery to check for levels or anything on my little b2910. Thanks for the idea tho.

Charging System - Dummy Light On & Confirming Dynamo Test

Thanks for the reply Matt. I will check that out next. My fear is the culprit will end up being a wire some GD mouse snacked on. -hal

    Fuel tank removal

The workshop manual (WSM) for my B2910 has information on the step to remove my tank. Check out RCW's post and find the one for your tractor. It might give you at least an idea. I've found my WSM very useful so far. Good luck!

Charging System - Dummy Light On & Confirming Dynamo Test

Thanks for the reply. Not that I have read in the manual. But, as I mentioned in my previous reply, I did replace the battery a few years ago with a plain sealed lead acid automotive battery from Sams. The previous one was an old school flooded with ports to check the water level and add...

Charging System - Dummy Light On & Confirming Dynamo Test

Well don't I feel like the dumb a$$ wasting everyone's time. You are right. What a brain fart. Yep. 14 volts AC so its not the dynamo. It is obvious electric stuff is not my strong suite either! I just replaced the regulator so I would not think that is the cause. The wiring diagram...

Charging System - Dummy Light On & Confirming Dynamo Test

Hello (again for those who have seen and replied to my other recent posts). The battery light has been on my '04 B2910 for 5 years or so and so I took it to my local dealer to fix that among a handful of other things. They came back with a price that told me they basically didn't want to work...

Procedure to Fix Leaking Fuel Line - Special Tool or Wrench Needed?

I assume by bled the lines you mean cracking where the lines attach at either the injector or pump so air can escape. If that is the case no. No one has done that. I did change the fuel filter quite a while ago but this tractor has a nice bleed location right at the filter. Something...

Procedure to Fix Leaking Fuel Line - Special Tool or Wrench Needed?

I agree wolfman. In fact. Here is after 20 minutes at 2500 rpm. I don't see any leak at all really. It sure appeared as quite the mess in that first picture. But, for now I am going to file this under not a problem and just check it periodically. On the the next problem which is the...

Procedure to Fix Leaking Fuel Line - Special Tool or Wrench Needed?

Ok here are the results. Perhaps they just do need cranked down. I don't see any leaks in the lines do you guys? Only idled for 5 minutes or so.

Procedure to Fix Leaking Fuel Line - Special Tool or Wrench Needed?

Great info thanks everyone. I'll have a closer look tomorrow and try to determine if there is a crack or not. I suspect there is one. It seems pretty unlikely to me that things got loose somehow and just tightening it will fix the problem. I'll inspect closer tomorrow and call around...

Procedure to Fix Leaking Fuel Line - Special Tool or Wrench Needed?

Hello. While flushing and changing radiator hoses, I saw this leak. From the accumulated dirt looks like its been going on a while. No issues from the tractor performance wise. It is not missing or anything. I've never messed with diesel injector lines before. None of my wrenches fit...

04 B2910 Fuel Sender Bolt Heads Captive in Plastic Tank?

Unfortunately a cutoff wheel wouldn't fit. I used the extension on my dremel to cut off the nuts & bolts. Added some permatex, rotated the new sender a bit to clear the old bolts, drilled pilot holes and put in new screws. I think it will do the job. I added some pics in case it ever helps...

04 B2910 Fuel Sender Bolt Heads Captive in Plastic Tank?

Thanks for the reply! I might try that. Looks like a tank is over $500 so I'd rather not have to go that route. Another thought I had was to cut the bolts off flush with the tank and then use screws in new holes. There is only about an eighth of an inch of bolt above the nut. If there was...

04 B2910 Fuel Sender Bolt Heads Captive in Plastic Tank?

Hello. Fuel gauge stopped working on my tractor a year or so ago and finally decided to replace the sender since it probably rusted off. Got the dash open enough to see it and started loosening the nuts but the whole bolt is turning. I really did not apply much torque. I was using a quarter...
