B7100 lift unit not working

Hi everyone

I have split the tractor to change the reverse gear, and I changed the hydraulic oil, and cleaned the hydraulic filter.

After assembling the tractor, the three point hitch raised and didn’t lower. So I applied some weight on it to lower it, and suddenly it became loose and doesn’t lift any more. I have released air by loosening the control bolt (the one under the chair) but it didn’t fix the issue, and I can see oil pumping when moving the lever (I loosened the bolt in the Hyde line going into the hitch unit) but the arms never move up. You don't have any hydraulic flow.
When you loosened the banjo bolt on the side of the valve, it should just be dumping fluid out at a huge rate.

FYI: You can easily pick up on the lift arms like that even if they are working properly, it's a floating setup.

what could be the cause of not having the flow, the pump? I have changed the oil and assured the level is ok….

Check the hose section of this pipe and make sure it's tight.
And when you installed the filter screen did you use new O-rings.

I will check that part

no, I didn’t change the o-rings on the filter….but one thing to mention is that after I assembled the tractor again, the hitch worked fine but was stuck at the top…once I applied wait it dropped and never raised again

I have checked and it is tight,,,I suspected it could be the piston, and when I opened the cover I didn’t see the piston, is this normal

I have removed the 3 points hitch and found the piston in the oil

seems I assembled it incorrectly

now issue is fixed

Is there some push rod between the piston and the arm levers?

I don’t see how the piston would be able to fall out of the bottom of the cylinder? Could you please explain how that would be possible? What part would be missing?

In his video I see the push rod attached to the arm, my guess would be that he had the push rod facing the wrong way when he assembled it, as it does spin around and can face the wrong way on assembly
There is also a stop plate to keep the arm from moving back too far but I see that attached in his picture.

It's here it's just pointed down instead of into the cylinder.

Yes, I assembled it facing wrong way…I am not sure I got mislead by a video of disassembly where it was laying down, so I assembled it also laying down …glad I didn’t move the tractor as the rear gear could got broken by the cylinder

Yes parts like that floating around in there can do some serious damage!
You did get lucky!
