TG1860D HST fluid change

Hi All, late 90’s tractor, running great for years. Not much tlc over the years, my bad. Finally thought I would change out the fluids, found the hex drain plug, drained the fluid from the HST, can I refill it through the vent tube access hole? Trying not to pull the fan and pulley if possible.

Can't speak for your tractor but that's how I refilled my 98 Accord

Thanks lugbolt, that’s how I did it. Fluid changed, air purged, still not driving quite right, reverse was better, forward had some hesitation. Belt from HST to gearbox was pretty sloppy so I put a fresh one on, fixed the driving issues. Gave the lawn the first cut of the year, all seems to be working well.
