LX4020 Recall

The Kubota dealer called informing me that there is a recall on my LX4020 for a problem with the cruise control not releasing (staying on) and they want to come and take the tractor to fix it. I never use the cruise control and have no need for it, but will probably get it serviced provided they can return the tractor quickly.

Has anyone else with an LX4020 (or LX3520 since they are mechanically the same) heard about this recall? I'm not sure if it would also apply to an LX2620 since that model is a bit different.

I received the same (or similar) call from my dealer, maybe 6 weeks or so ago. Sounded like it's a non urgent & easy update, so I'll wait to have them do it until it's convenient.

Maybe check with dealer service rep to see how long( shop time) it will take, cause Spring is just 13 days away and 'service' usually gets swamped with 'urgent - need it tomorrow' repairs. From what I've heard priority is given to 'real' farmers, then 'business types'.... 'home owner-hobbiests' last.
Another option might be if it can be fixed at your place AND service guy is 'around the corner' fixing something else.....
As long as you don't need it, it's not a safety issue for you , so it can be done when shop has time.but not too long ! I'd think in at 7, out the door at 4 ??

I would certainly think that Kubota would want this issue corrected from a liability issue regardless of whether the owner uses the cruise control or not. Having the cruise control not disengaging is certainly a serious concern for Kubota.

curious, looked up the parts drawings... yeesh, there's a LOT of 'bit and pieces' involved so probably not a 'simple, one hour' task. be interesting to see what the shop has to do and what parts get replaced though.

Actually when they called to inform me about the recall they said it would only take about an hour to do the fix. My only concern was their reluctance to commit to how soon they would return my tractor. Tentatively we agreed they would come and pick it up on April 7. I delayed it since I should be able to have the snow blower off it by then.

Not all machines within the affected serial ranges require this Mandatory Service Campaign. Check K Warranty to see if your unit is affected.
Only cabin LX3520 and LX4020 units.

A clamp is removed from the cruse control cable, a piece of loom is added, and different clamps are added to change the way the cable is routed along the tractor. labor allowance is .9 hrs.
