We had a worker to turn over the tractor on a sidling and the tractor ran on its side until it stopped. I rebuilt the engine and it runs like a charm but the problem I'm having is the muffler is full of oil and constantly smokes like a freight train what can I do to get the oil out of the muffler I don't want to pay $5000 for a new muffler

Are we talking about a L3901?
If you are, I hate to tell you but it's not going to run very long before it faults out and won't run at all.
Oil in the DPF filter will not just come out, you have to have it baked out professionally.
I don't know of anyone that does these small DPF filters.
You can get a remanufactured DPF for about $1000 and the DOC filter for about $2500.

Here is a better option:

Appears to be yet another unforeseen benefit of govt. mandated (EPA) "features"? :(

agreed. I saw this happen within a week of the first L3301 being sold in 2013 I believe it was. I mentioned it to the kubota rep "what happens when user rolls tractor?" Response "don't roll it". SImple enough, however accidents DO happen. Remember, companies also buy tractors, companies that supply things to consumers. So if they roll a non DPF tractor over, costs 'em, let's say, $5000 to rebuild. Roll a DPF tractor and it costs em $15,000. Ultimately costs the consumer more for the products and/or services.

that deal in '13 was a nightmare. Nobody could bake a small DPF in those days. Had to replace only. Not available (no part number) at the time, so customer had to WAIT for several months untl kubota could cough up a part number to order, then had to wait more time because it was not available (backorder). Nightmare for both dealer and customer! Now you have to document the tractor, engine, and DPF serial number, take pictures, and a bunch of other stuff to order one. Shouldn't be that hard but it is.

If you order 1J804-18910 KIT FILTER,DPF , it is $1080.00. There are no hoops to jump through but the Soot Counter will need reset using Diagmaster.
