What to look for in a Skid Steer

First question is what's your budget. What your wanting to do is probably going to be a 85-100 HP machine with high flow hyd. Back when I bought my last one new it was ten thousand more to buy tracks and I was already spending more than I wanted to. Probably twenty now. Main reason I bought the...

    Dump trailer questions

I am pretty touchy about loaning trailers out. Normally where my trailers go I go. Years ago a BIL borrowed a grain trailer and tractor. It was my best trailer which had never been on salted roads or hauled road rock in it. He borrowed it from my wife his sister when I was out of town. He...

Unknown brand box blade for B2710

Thirty, forty years ago there were a ton of those box blades in my area. Many little road side short line dealers selling 8N Fords, equipment and flat bed trailers. I think the thought were that piece with the hinge and cutting edge was suppose to help break up the clods and smooth out behind...

    Kubota tractor starter options?

I have used DB several times on odd ball equipment . The first was probably ten years ago. It was a pump with a three cylinder Deutz diesel on it that someone had took the starter and alt off. I bought both from DB and there are both still working.

Need advice on replacing Kubota LA723 FEL quick hitch

I would take it off the tractor and use a hyd press to straight it out. I wouldn't use the tractor and loader to straight it. I have straighten several with a 100 ton press.

In search of a better truck for towing the M6060 and folding cutter.

Poohbear That is one nice rig you have. If my health was better I would have a rig like that and be out at the sand dunes when I wasn't farming. Enjoy the new truck.

    Ford 332T injectors

I would take those injectors to a diesel injection pump repair shop and have them tested for pop off pressure and spray pattern and they will have the parts you need to repair your leaks. If that hex screw got moved at all your pop off pressure is not correct now.

Anyone here have a Kaufman dump trailer?

Now days pretty much any semi pulling a grain trailer or a end dump has at the least one extra cord from tractor truck to the trailer. I have electric tarp and trap openers on my grain trailers so I don't get out of the cab to unload. Open the tarp from them to probe the load and open the traps...

Anyone own a New Holland LX865 turbo?

I am in the same camp. I ran a couple of New Holland skid loaders for a number of years and never had any issues with there pumps or filters. I would leave well enough alone.

    Let's talk shoes

I started wearing Redwings when I was a kid pull on boots for years then lace ups for a long time. Was having lower back issues and feet issues doctor said throw the Redwings away and buy Keen's. Been wearing them well over twenty years now. Have always worn steel toe. Keen has lots of different...

Anyone own a New Holland LX865 turbo?

I would go over the wiring primary and secondary with a fine tooth comb. I have seen bad relays, battery cables and half bad batteries burn up good starters. If he bought that starter aftermarket that can be a issue also. There are a lot of junk starters out there. Had a friend that didn't want...

Fence posts - Concrete Vs. Foam - What Say you?

Those key items are why the concrete worked. Any I ever dug out that were rotted off from concrete had no plastic around the post or gravel in the hole. That's why years ago we started using rock to back fill the holes makes a nice tight post and the water has somewhere to go. I have a pole...
