Rewiring Air Compressor Control - solution, see last post

Let there be air: limit must be set for 150psi, more than I need. and at the drill press outlet (plastic box is where the low voltage switch / light will go - tomorrow) regulator set to 100psi

Rewiring Air Compressor Control - solution, see last post

Found the problem!!! I tried one last thing before removing the contactor. I removed the top cover to expose the moveable contacts. When energized the magnetic coil is supposed to pull this armature attached plastic piece with the 3 contacts down. Maybe not so much. With the cover off I...

Anything is possible of course but I am pretty careful on stripping / inserting wires. I'll take it apart after I remove it.

I have checked the input - 230 across L1/L2, 115 across each line to ground. Nothing on the load terminals (with or without the compressor connected). I won't know exactly what's up with it until I pull it later today. I picked up a new contactor this am.

Thanks GreensvilleJay - I agree couldn't be a simpler device. . . here is a shot I took this afternoon as I couldn't read the small print on the contactor label Just L1 / L2 and T1 / T2 are used. The company I used to work for (as of last Friday) sells hvac accessories. They have a 40amp 2...

Why is perception often much different than the truth?

Several of our friends were together over the weekend and the conversation turned to a robbery of one of our acquaintances. It was generally believed by most of us that crime has been a growing problem in this country. We wanted to see how much it has changed so we did an interwebby search. We...

Rewiring Air Compressor Control - solution, see last post

OK, now I need some help :( I finished wiring the 'box' except for the 2 monitoring lights that aren't in yet. I jump the low voltage leads on the top to simulate an 'on' call. The contactor snaps right in. No compressor :( So i pull out my meter. 231 volts on the line side of the contactor, 0...

The previous owner of our hose left me a nice Ingersoll-Rand air compressor. I also left my air compressor in our old house for the new owners. The compressor is in the basement with 2 air lines going to the garage upstairs and 1/2 down the basement to where he used to do old car restorations...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

iirc the formula for distance dropped is D=16*T^2, where T is the time squared and D is the distance in feet. so if it took 4 seconds to hear the splash the distance would be (4^2)*16= 256' The formula use here is not exactly correct because sound travels at about 1125 ft/sec so a correction...

    Last Day!

lol, no I don't think so. I've been working from home for about 4 years now so the wifey is used to me. . . I ran my own business for 25 years. Worked at this job just shy of 30. The only jobs I'll be doing will be for my hobbies or stuff around the house (that I WANT TO do).

    Last Day!

Retirement is here :) Company is giving me a retirement lunch today at a really nice restaurant . They originally wanted to give me a retirement dinner, a bigger deal than I wanted. Because its a lunch I'm sure only the senior managers will be there - the workers gotta work. I'm good with...

    EA 6 way rear blade

Yes, I contacted EA and they said they would pay for the shipping, just send them a copy of the freight bill :) This blade was only used at our last house to help keep the gravel driveway trimmed out. It did a great job at that!
