Cleared off the driveway of another 4" of snow we got yesterday evening and overnight. Also, cleaned up my 2 elderly neighbors.
I'm sure glad I let someone talk me into installing a heater in my cab!

Scraped 4” of snow off the driveway that fell yesterday. Added it to the 6” we had last Sunday. Stayed cozy and warm inside the homemade cab.

Whaaat? Operating temp from 41F to 104? Seriously, what happens below 41F unless ya leave it outside - which is exactly what I will do? The AA batteries just get a little sluggish?
Missed this before.

It takes 2-D batteries.

Never paid any attention to operating temperature.

Probably most of it’s operating time has been less than 41 degrees.

It’s worked and don’t have any other suggestions beyond that.

I started out without a timer until the second one burnt out then installed a timer, on for twenty five minutes off for five and also installed an ammeter so I could see when it wasn't working.
Now I have reduced the wattage to half and removed the timer.
I want to leave it on for an hour , the timer might be stressing it popping in on and off.

Install a bridge rectifier to cut the voltage in half by only using half the dc side , now it operates at 200 watts instead of 400.
I believe the space around the heater is too small for the 400 watt heater.

I've never had block heater problems until I bought this Kubota tractor, if you use a block heater on a bx you might want to test it if it has been in use for more than three seasons.
I just discovered Kubota has enlarged the block heater for the BX2370, the new models are 5mm larger with more space around the element and it protrudes into the block a little farther but that doesn't help me unless I ream out the frost plug hole to accept the larger heater.

My wife and I worked on firewood yesterday. Got to love working in the snow.

10_33_04.jpg

Didn't get any good pictures of the logs I carried with the tractor. Here is picture of the last two I moved. About a 4 minute drive time from where I cut the tree down and the splitting area. I would have liked the logs a little more centered in the grapple, but it wasn't easy to get both the logs picked up and I didn't have a good straight on access. I didn't want to put the smaller log in the way in case I couldn't get them both. At least they are on the high sided of one of the areas I have to go across.

Went skating/drifting on the Kubota while pushing snow yesterday. Loaded R4's on a sloped asphalt drive and some packed snow make it interesting. Had to use the bucket once to back myself out when I had pushed a bit too far across the state road and dropped a front tire off the far side of the road. If we routinely had snow I would invest in some chains but can deal with for now :)

Guys keep all that white crap up North.
Beautiful days here in S.Tx. The L305 has been transporting our deer harvest lately.

It's always easier to move the hay rings with a bale already on the front. I just tilted it back a tad too far, lol. I did end up catching it and it never hit the tractor. :) My brother caught it on video!

No pictures, but we got 8' of the white stuff Thursday -Friday. The VA closed so my wife didn't have to go to work so we both slept in. I was up by 7 and went out to shovel the sidewalk to the wood shop. I decided NOT to plow the driveway until Saturday because we weren't expecting anyone. Around noon the mailman showed up with a package that won't fit in the mailbox. I felt really bad that he had to drive over 1/2 a mile in and out our drive.
I did plow it Saturday and cleared the drive for the house at the end of our drive. Played around checking/following deer tracks in the woods from the seat, then drove down to a hunting camp past our house to check it for the owners.
Then I brought a toat of wood up to the wood shop.
Shop time tomorrow and start framing the walls on the new building Tuesday.

Worked on firewood again today. I cut down two small standing dead Oak trees and cut them into 80" logs. I was stacking them to take to the splitting area and there was one that wasn't lined up with the others. I wasn't worried about it, I had more to get. When I raised the FEL I somehow had gotten it along with the logs I had stacked. At least I didn't bend the two teeth.

Is your knife dull? I use a box knife I keep on the tractor. I buy them at flee markets/antique stores where they have a box of various stuff for $!. I buy the yellow or orange ones. That way if I do drop one it's easy to find.

Nice looking hay!

That is a box knife, just need to find my replacement razor blades, lol

That hay was cut in summer 2023, I forgot I had 5 or 6 bales of that left under my tarps.

No snow in Ireland and the grass is too wet to cut for weeks now so I decided to do some corrosion removal.

I took all most zinc plated parts and lots of nuts and bolts off my G1900 (baby-) tractor plus some extra parts that I want to get electroplated. Sandblasted them and smoothed them with a wire brush and brought everything to an electroplating company.

Under the flywheel I discovered a leaking crank shaft seal, ordered that from Kubota and have it here now ready to replace. Very realistic price and after seeing it I was glad that I did not order it from a third party supplier.

IMG_20250106_163417.jpg

Also ordered lots of worn ball- and needle bearings and a new splined output shaft plus new yoke that is badly worn thanks to neglect of previous owners.

My new dash board instrument printed circuit boards arrived too, the first version did not work properly.

IMG_20250111_123149.jpg

Mechanically everything fits though, so very happy with my new dash board.

IMG_20241227_203209.jpg

Always something to do. :)

Kind regards,
Hugo

It was late, I was tired and watching youtube and went down that rabbit roll of weird tractor videos and came across this.

What a cute little bugger! Its like a cross between a BX & B series but what looks to be heavy duty. With the big fat wide front tires, it looks sooo cool.

I haven't had much sleep. Forgive me, my judgement may not be up to par lol.

I’ve been putting the grapple to use doing some under brushing. Very happy with the Catawba 55 and LX2610SU. Coming up on my 50 hour service soon.

Looks to me like you have the wrong heater.
They wouldn't redesign a heater for an engine, that wouldn't fit the engine make no sense.

We've had our B7610 since 2004. Wife used it for her critters. Eventually the bucket on the FEL had issues.....

My g-son came out, welded up the bucket.....

Wont hold water but it doesn't need to.
Have fun...Don.
