I just purchased a 1993 Kubota B7100 for $3600 with a belly mower. It is in decent condition and it will work for what I need even though I probably overpaid. It does run and operates great. Only real issue I have with it is an oil leak located on the back left of the block. It drips down the side of the engine. What are the possible locations of leaking here? A new oil pressure sensor is already on the way. Any help is greatly appreciated

Jordan ,

welcome to the forum - very informative bunch here, ask questions and you will get replies quickly.

In my opinion you paid a "fair" price for that machine - you did not mention how many hours? It looks to be in great shape - missing a few little things but overall very nice.

MMM - 60" or 54"

I would spray that part of the engine down with some degreaser and wash off - may be hard to tell exactly where the oil is coming from at this point. Why you need a new oil pressure sensor?

I will tell you this - many people here have the B7100 and all of us think it is almost bullet proof - a very tough little machine.

Thanks for the fast response, hour meter is an amp gauge now so no telling how many it has. It has the 54” deck. Seems like the area I live in everything is about 25% more than elsewhere in the East Coast. You mentioned some things were missing, what items would that be? If I can figure out this leak I’d definitely be keeping this machine for a long time.

the front screen is missing - this item keeps a lot of debris off the radiator - which you need to keep an eye out for - there is NO WATER pump in this engine - works off the thermosyphon system, hot rises cool falls.
Also the guard is missing on the left foot steering knuckle - this is no big deal.

Keeping the radiator clean is a must !!! DO not overfill the radiator - it will spit out the coolant - best level is about an inch or so below the filler neck. 30% antifreeze and 70% water will cool a little bit better than 50-50 mix.

The leak is most likely just the oil switch. I rarely see one that does not seep.

Turns out it was the oil pressure switch after pressure washing it! Thanks for the help and I’ll be on the look out for those other parts
