I run ad block everywhere and have been commercial free on TV since 1999 (my first TIVO). At this point I am actually offended to see an ad on TV, I feel like a $5.00 bill should come out for each one for me to watch it.
That being said I DO NOT RUN AD BLOCK on OTT. I even click on the ads occasionally. Being a webhost I totally understand the economy involved. Having the ad impression hit the page increases OTT's revenue as well as viability in a campaign.
One suggestion I have seen on many forums and would suggest they provide it here.
Allow advertisers a direct banner purchase on the site. You will get 20 or 30 core advertisers that will gladly pay for a direct link banner. It will pay for the site, it will be good community advertisers and a direct http link to their site is far more valuable than a Double-Click (normal banner ad company) click through ad. A click-through ad has no value to google on site ranks where actual direct http links are huge, especially when coming from a contextually relevant site.
You can even still run the click through banners.
